Virtual Accounting Services Across Canada

Your accountant does not need to be in your city. Ghuman & Associates serves owner-operated businesses and professional corporations in Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Ontario the same way we serve a client two blocks from our Abbotsford office: cloud bookkeeping, digital documents, and a real person who answers when you call.

How working with us remotely actually works

  • Your books live in the cloud. We work in QuickBooks Online and Xero, so you and we see the same numbers at the same time.
  • Documents move digitally. Secure upload for source documents, electronic signatures for engagement letters and filings. No envelopes, no fax machine.
  • Meetings happen by video or phone. Year-end reviews, tax planning conversations, and quick questions all work the same at a distance. If you are ever near Abbotsford, Langley, or Brampton, the door is open.
  • Filings go to CRA electronically. T1, T2, GST/HST, and payroll filings are all filed the same way regardless of where you live.

Your province’s rules are not BC’s rules

A remote accountant is only useful if they respect the differences between provinces. The most visible one is sales tax:

Province GST or HST Provincial sales tax
Alberta 5% GST None
British Columbia 5% GST 7% PST
Saskatchewan 5% GST 6% PST
Manitoba 5% GST 7% RST
Ontario 13% HST Included in HST

Rates as published by the Canada Revenue Agency, July 2026.

Sales tax is only the visible difference. Employer obligations shift at each border too: Ontario has an Employer Health Tax, Manitoba levies a Health and Post-Secondary Education Tax on larger payrolls, and workers compensation runs through a different board in every province. Provincial credits and small business tax rates differ as well. A return prepared as if every province were BC leaves money, or compliance, on the table.

If you run a professional corporation, the rules that matter most are set by your provincial regulatory college: who may own shares, what the corporation may be called, and what it may do. We check your college’s rules before the corporate work starts, not after.

Who we work with remotely

Most of our out-of-province clients are healthcare professionals: dentists, chiropractors, physiotherapists, and other practitioners running professional corporations in Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Ontario. We also work remotely with e-commerce sellers and other owner-operated businesses whose books already live in the cloud.

The work is done by the same CPAs who serve our Fraser Valley clients, from real offices in Abbotsford, Langley, and Brampton. Remote does not mean outsourced.

Common questions

Do we ever need to meet in person?
No. Everything from onboarding to year-end works by video, phone, and secure document exchange. In-person is available at any of our three offices if you want it.

How do my documents get to you?
Secure digital upload, and electronic signature for anything that needs signing. If you prefer email or another arrangement, we adapt to how you work.

Can you handle my province’s taxes?
Yes. We already file for clients in Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Ontario, and the provincial differences above are part of the standard checklist for every out-of-province file.
