Most tax penalties in BC have nothing to do with hard questions. They come from a date slipping past while you were running the business. This page lists every fixed CRA and WorkSafeBC deadline a BC owner-operator faces from July 2026 through June 2027, verified against the published CRA and WorkSafeBC dates.

| Feb 28, 2027 | T4, T4A and T5 slips filed with CRA and given to employees | Every employer; corporations paying dividends |
| Feb 28, 2027 | WorkSafeBC annual payroll report and payment for 2026 | Annual-reporting employers |
| Mar 1, 2027 | RRSP contribution deadline for the 2026 tax year | Individuals with RRSP room |
| Mar 15, 2027 | CRA personal tax instalment, first payment of 2027 | Individuals paying instalments |
| Apr 30, 2027 | T1 return filed and any balance paid for 2026. Self-employed file later but payment is still due today | All individuals |
| Jun 15, 2027 | Self-employed T1 filing. GST/HST annual returns for Dec 31 year-ends, and the June instalment, land the same day | Self-employed individuals and spouses |
Corporate T2 returns and corporate GST/HST dates depend on your fiscal year-end, and BC PST due dates depend on the filing frequency the province assigned you. Those are worth confirming for your own numbers rather than a generic calendar.
Two dates catch people every year
April 30 for the self-employed. The June 15 filing extension does not extend the payment. Any balance owing starts collecting interest May 1, whether the return is filed or not.
The last day of February. T4 and T5 slips carry per-slip late penalties, and the WorkSafeBC annual report lands the same week. February is short. Plan for it in January.
